Hippo Portrait
Black and white hippo portrait photographed in the heart of the Masai Mara. The photograph embraces the pure power and unique facial features that these remarkable animals have here on this vast contient.

Snarling Lioness
An interesting black and white head shot of a snarling lioness that best shows off her teeth as she races out of the undergrowth here in the great Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. The lionesses head in the image has captured the lighting beautifully and holds an essence of power.

African lion - On The Hunt
After many hours waiting, I get the shot of this African Lions eyes staring at the sight of a potential meal in the near distance here in Botswana. Nicely lit on one side, this black and white image provides a rather striking and intimidating feeling to it.

Zebra Herd Near Waterhole
While wating patiently in an underground wildlife photography hide here in the rift valley in Kenya, I get a great shot of a herd of zebra as they stand next to the waterhole in front of me. This still body of water captures the mirror image of the herd and positions the subject rather nicely and motionless in frame.

The Hippo's Gaping Mouth
Located on the Cubango River in Northern Namibia, I get a close encounter with a truly aggressive Hippopotamus. After spotting his attempt to open his mouth, I capture the moment his mouth reaches an impressive 180 degrees.
Male Lion Portrait
Having photographed many African Lions across Africa, I present to you the isolation of an African Lion head shot. The image was created to portray a kings throne portrait imitating power. The dark surroundings in this black and white image creates a situation where the head has been isolated from the frame bringing you a centre piece of detail.

The Hippopotamus - Detail Within
Here I get the opportunity to get up close to a dry and dehydrated hippo here in Uganda. After noticing the oily drops on its skin known as hipposudoric acid were present, I could not help but capture am abstract type of image to best show off its skin. The black and white effect best shod off the skins textures.

The Thirsty Elephant Herd
Elephant herd photographed in black and white during one of the hottest days of the year in 2024, Botswana. After the family had drunk, this large female came forward and stood in font of us in order to protect the herd. The white background embraces the dark textures of the elephants and helps to bring them forward in the image.
